I have achieved all of my goals from this semester. I have successfully completed my class (I Think) and I have found a job. I am rally happy with how this semester has turned out. I would say it has been my most successful of my Tribeca career. I have had a great two years and can’t believe it is all over. I know I am not a great writer of these blog. I am a man of the spoken word, not the written word. I have set a new life goal though. I will learn to write better and forever learn never giving up on my dreams.

If I could go back and direct any film it would be the original Night of The Living Dead. I love this film and thought it was amazing. I would set it in 2014 and use newer filmmaking techniques. I would use a lot of quick cuts and fun camera angles. I would love to see how it would turn out. Then again do I want to mess with something that is already perfect?

My plans for after graduation are….
1. Find a job with in the industry
2. Finish my feature script and produce it
My goals are simple but I have my sights set on completing both.
How do I feel about the collaborative directing exercise?
It was alright. I stopped caring even before we began. I was thrown into the position of AD. I never got a shot list from our DP so I didn’t have much to do. Once filming began though it all turned around. I felt like I was at least able to put in my opinions. Overall it was interesting but I don’t really want to ever do that again.

But I’m very pleased on how the final cut came to be, I was very pleased with how it turned out considering this was my first documentary (The one for documentary was already shot, i just went along for the ride.) Was it as adventurous or unique as i hoped — no. But I can’t complain I haven’t really found a voice with documentaries. It’ll be neat if I find one in the future, but for now, it’s still in a babystep phase.
I was hired as the BTS DP for The Cloning Box.
Julio and I did pretty well and getting coverage over the three days.
Interviews were a real pain the ass because no one had time in their schedule.
Everything got done last minute and our editor only had a little time.
Overall it was pretty good. A 10 oudda den experience.
How did I feel about the student taught classes?
Meh…
I enjoyed the experience but felt that it was more of a discussion then learning anything new. I really had fun but was also extremely bored.
I think that it was a great idea but our class is bad at staying on topic with anything.
hat Dog of Mine and Magic Cabbage both look like they were done by the same person, he alien/creature effects both have a no-budget look to them and they both have decent sound design. While the blood effects in Cabbage are pretty neat, I do gotta say, that I like Dog simply because it was a bit more adventurous and had slightly more charm than MC. That’s my two cents on the films, not particularly proud the way they turned out, but proud that I made them.
After seeing the Lego movie I really became interested in creating a film of my own. We got time in class in order to come up with a concept and create our own film. We choose to create a story using the death of the dinosaurs. The earth gets hit by a meteor and the dinosaurs get away on a spaceship to land on mars. I really enjoyed this project and wish we could have done more projects like it. I was really happy with how our film turned out and found it to be a great learning experience.
Alrighty then, time to compare my first TFA short That Dog of Mine and Magic Cabbage. Both are meh. NEXT BLOG!
